Stabilisers

Sway bars or Anti roll bars (different name for the same device) are there for reducing or regulating the body roll in the vehicle. Since the suspension system on our transaxles is set up by the Alfa Romeo factory for everyday traffic, the dimensions used on the anti roll bar results in a modest anti roll effect. This way the car is comfortable and can be driven in both dry and wet weather conditions with or without passengers. Body roll is something that feels slow and is in fact slowing you down while cornering. The corner weights on each wheel will be different and thus overall cornering forces will be reduced. Wheel alignment is also badly influenced by body roll and this too will result in bad behaviour. For fast driving on flat and dry tarmac, you want to minimise body roll so the car’s weight distribution is minimal and therefore the overall grip is maximised.

Watts linkage kit – 299€ ex VAT & Shipping

The De Dion rear axle is held in place by the watt linkage. The watt linkage is mounted on the rear end of the dion tube on one side and connected to the body on both the left and right side of the car. The original watt linkage is fitted with rubber bushes (silent blocks), which will flex and results in a sloppy rear and a delay in the settling of the rear of the car during the entry stage of a corner. For the 116 series we supply a ball joint fitted watt linkage with modified length for lowered cars. With our linkage the car will have excellent transient handling and you will feel it respond without the usual delay. This kit also come with the Watts centre bearing which is a billet aluminium part including 2 bearings.

This kit can also be bought in a race version with aircraft uniballs for a extra 150€ ex VAT & Shipping

De Dion Centre Uniball Set – 149€ ex VAT & Shipping

The rear De Dion axle is centrally mounted to the chassis with a rubber bush. This bush may deform under hard cornering, which will cause the rear axle’s position to slightly change undeneath the car.

To eliminate this effect, the centre mounting bush can be replaced by a ball joint assembly, We have tested this on all models of 116 series cars and even against and BRAND new rubber bush you can feel the difference.

Our set includes ball joint, housing in aluminum, bushes and bearing: all parts you need for a trouble-free installation without any other parts required.

PLEASE NOTE: This Modification is a Major benefit if you have already changed the Rubber watts linkage to a uniball version, if you haven’t why not consider changing them at the same time?

Castor Ball Joint – 125€ ex VAT & Shipping

Normally the caster rod is connected to the inner fender with two very weak rubber’s, this creates sloppy corners and braking.
